EL TIGRE CELESTE GALLERY
BUENOS AIRES - NEW YORK
2006-2010

El Tigre Celeste was an artistic project, a gallery, that I founded in Buenos Aires in 2007 together with the artist Clara Celeste Bakota. It operated in a PH  in the Palermo neighborhood, where we held two exhibitions. The first featured works by Clara and myself, and the next one, Colectivo Rascacielo, brought together many artists with the idea that they would participate with vertical works, art reaching upward.

Both openings were unforgettable: parties with live music, crowded with people, full of fresh energy. Our main idea in opening the space was to promote new forms of exhibition, offering exposure to emerging Argentine and international artists from an inclusive perspective. The goal was to create a relaxed, joyful dialogue and provide an alternative to the conventional art gallery environment.

Every Sunday during the summer we projected films -Brazil, The Taste of Tea- on the terrace and opened the exhibition to the public.

When the physical space closed, the gallery became a virtual exhibition platform. At that time, we began organising group shows in different parts of the world. El Tigre continued presenting exhibitions in Buenos Aires (Galería Dacil, Festival Buen Día), but also in Miami and New York (Art Vision Gallery, Y Gallery).

El Tigre Celeste aimed to create something different, guided by the intuition and input of two artists, seeking the invention of a new language that would open perception in a fresh, different, and contemporary way.
